Best 100% Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

Whole wheat flour – 2 cups, extra for dusting
Sugar – 1.5 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Instant dry yeast – 1 tsp
Water – 1 cup (warm temp should be around 110°f – 115°f)
Directions
- In a bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, salt and yeast and mix them together with a mixing spoon
- Now heat the water (Luke warm) should be around 110°f – 115°f if not you might kill the yeast and the dough would not raise.
- Add all the water into the bowl and mix it in with the dry ingredients (step 1), now slowly add the remaining whole wheat flour and combine with a mixing spoon.
- Once mixed, dump the dough onto a floured work surface and quickly knead dough a few times until it comes together for about 2-3 minutes. (do not over mix the dough)
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a large mixing bowl that is lightly coated with oil.
- You can either place a towel or wrap it with plastic and allow to rise at a warm temperature for about 40 – 50 min.
- When the dough is doubled, tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and divide into 3 pieces for 3 thin crust. Form into a tight ball.
- Preheat the oven to 500°f. In the meantime roll the dough out and poke with forks if you want to prevent bubbling and desired toppings and bake it on a pizza stone or a baking sheet for about 10 – 12 minutes or until the crust is browned.
- Remove from the oven, and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
